Honestly, I was surprised when I saw the news about the JAMB releases rescheduled UTME results having crazy low scores. Like, out of almost 337,000 students who retook the test, only a handful scored above 200 and barely anyone reached 217.
From what I've read, JAMB said this wasn't because the test was weirdly hard or rigged or anything. Instead, they were super strict this time, especially since there'd been a lot of cheating and issues at certain centers before. JAMB wanted to stop all the rumors about scores getting inflated in the cancelled sessions, so they made sure everything for the rescheduled test was clean. Plus, a bunch of kids didn't even show up for their new date, which was like 21,000 people out of the group. JAMB also cracked down on things like under-age candidates, fake IDs, and sneaky WhatsApp runs.
I guess the biggest thing is people thinking the rescheduled test was easier and would get better marks, but reality hit kinda hard. I had a cousin who had to resit, and she said the vibe in the hall was just so tense. Maybe that's why the scores turned out lower than people hoped. If you ask me, JAMB's just trying to keep things fair but it's definitely tough for everyone who wrote the thing.
