To be real, I think people just blame Wall Street for everything because it's what we always hear on the news and see in all those movies. Like, the way people talk about Wall Street, you’d think every stock broker is some evil genius pulling all the strings in the world. But most of the time, they're just reacting to stuff that’s happening, like changes in the government or whatever’s going on globally.
Of course, the big banks and investors on Wall Street do have a ton of power and can move markets, but they don’t literally control the whole economy—there's a lot more to it, like regular people spending money, companies hiring or laying off people, and the government doing its thing. I remember when there were huge swings one week because of news about China and the US making up, and everyone freaked out. Sometimes I feel like it’s just spicy headline stuff. Most folks just look at the Dow being up or down and think it means more than it actually does in real life. So yeah, Wall Street’s important, but it’s not the puppet master people think it is. Don’t let the headlines get to your head!
