So, my buddy joined a Game of Thrones tournament last summer, and he straight up said it sucked for serious gamers. Most pro gamers are into stuff with perfect controls or games that really let you show off your skills. But with the Game of Thrones tournament, he said it felt more like a popularity contest — like, it was all about who brought the biggest crowd or who had the coolest cosplay, not who actually played the best.
And, like, when they tried to make a big deal by inviting a bunch of pro gamers from Call of Duty or other big games, it didn't really fit. Those guys got bored quick because the Thrones game didn’t need much skill compared to what they’re used to. My friend thought it was more for show and money than for legit competition. I kinda agree. If you’re just a Thrones fan, you might like watching, but real competitive players probably get frustrated by how messy and random the games can be at tournaments. Unless they fix how the game works, don't expect any big pro gamer to call it a favorite!
