Are the FCTA's actions against offices and businesses like FIRS and PDP in Abuja truly fair, or is there a hidden political motive behind some of these shutdowns?

Honestly, it feels a bit shady to me. The FCTA says they’re just doing their job by locking up places that owe ground rent, no matter who owns them. But loads of people, especially the PDP and even FIRS, are saying it doesn’t add up. The PDP claims they're being targeted on purpose—to mess with the opposition and make them look bad, especially during elections. The FIRS straight-up called the move unprofessional and said they’re not even behind on their fees.

From what I remember, this crackdown is hitting almost 4,800 properties, including banks, petrol stations, and government buildings. That’s pretty hardcore. But then President Tinubu got involved and put everything on hold for two weeks, which kinda shows the whole situation is bigger than just some unpaid bills. It’s got to be about politics too, at least a little bit. I just find it hard to believe every single one of these places forgot to pay rent for literal decades.

To me, it looks like rules are being used to play political games. If it really was only about money, the FCTA would have started seizing properties ages ago, not just now when things are extra tense.
