Honestly, people assume federal judges are like robots, but from what I've seen and read, they're totally human and, yeah, sometimes their own opinions come through. Technically, judges are supposed to be neutral and decide based only on the law and what’s presented in court—their whole reputation relies on being fair. But in real life, everyone has beliefs and experiences that can sneak into how they see things, even if they don’t mean for it to.

There are examples where people think judges acted biased, like when they consistently rule a certain way on stuff like immigration or civil rights. Sometimes there’s drama if a judge has done something questionable and they get called out for it. I feel like the good ones really try hard to be fair, but you can’t fully remove someone’s personal views. That’s why who becomes a judge gets debated so much, because their opinions can totally affect major rulings. I guess it just proves how important it is to pick the right people for these jobs.
