I kinda feel like Everton’s win against Newcastle was a big deal, but not for the reasons people might think. For Everton fans, beating a team that just snagged a Champions League spot definitely feels good—like, it gives you something to brag about even if your own season wasn’t all that. But honestly, I don’t think it changes how everyone sees Everton going into next season, at least not in a major way.
From what I saw, a lot of people are still more focused on Newcastle’s overall story this year. Everton did their part, and sure, maybe some people will see them as a team that can pull off big results when you least expect it, but most folks remember the whole season, not just the last day. I’d say the real challenge is if Everton can keep up that kind of energy next year. If they show up and beat strong sides like Newcastle more often, then people might start to see them differently, but one match alone doesn’t totally flip the script. It’s just a cool ending for the season, you know?
