Totally, that’s the vibe I get too. Like, Fubara being pushed into joining APC after being battered from all ends is pretty much the ruling party showing they can get whoever they want, however they want. There are so many people saying this is all just part of Tinubu’s plan to make sure there’s no real competition by 2027, and honestly, it’s hard to argue with that when you see what just happened.
It reminds me of when the popular kids at school try to get everyone on their side so nobody else stands a chance. The opposition, especially the PDP and Labour Party, just looks weak right now, especially if their own governors or leaders keep getting forced out or pressured until they switch sides.
People in the news even say things like "the opposition is too poor and disorganized to fight back," and if this keeps up, Nigeria’s just going to feel like a one-party country again. That’s not good at all for democracy, if you ask me. People want real choices, not just everyone being forced into the same group.
