I’ve noticed that a lot of players drop levels when they leave the big European leagues for places like MLS, but Kevin De Bruyne picking Napoli is super smart if he wants to stay Belgium captain and lead the team. Serie A is still one of the toughest leagues in Europe, so he’ll keep playing against strong competition every week, instead of having it easy somewhere else.
Personally, I remember seeing older stars who went to the US or Middle East, and their international careers kinda faded. But with Kevin sticking in Europe, especially at a big club that's in the Champions League, he's showing everyone—including Belgium—that he’s still got serious ambition.
Plus, with him reuniting with Lukaku at Napoli, he'll have chemistry with another Belgian star, which can only be good for their national team. So, yeah, joining Napoli is pretty much the best move he could make if he really wants to stay at his best for Belgium. I’d bet the national coach loves this for sure!
