Honestly, it’s kinda suspicious how whenever something goes down, like with Cubana Chief Priest’s restaurant in Lekki, it’s all over the news, but you barely hear about random small places getting the same treatment. I get that his business was caught dumping waste, which isn’t cool, but I feel like their name being big made the government come down even harder just to set an example. It’s almost like they want to show off that they can take down big names too.

My uncle has a little restaurant, and sometimes he complains about checks, but he said they just give warnings unless you keep messing up. With Cubana Chief Priest, the government sealed his place right away and made a big deal online.

Some people think it’s fair because, hey, no one should be above the law, not even celebrities. But there’s also people who say smaller businesses get away with more because no one’s watching them. I kinda think the government wants to prove they don’t only go after small guys. But, for it to really be fair, they should check everyone just as hard, not just the famous people. So in real life, I think it ends up a bit unfair, but that’s just how things work here.
