So if you actually look at the Chelsea final-day timeline and compare it to Man United or Liverpool, I think Chelsea has the most unpredictable and clutch stories. Seriously, I've followed all three, and while Man United had that wild stoppage-time winner for the title, Chelsea seems to always have something crazy going on, like clinching Champions League after losing a game, or insane wins like 8-0 on the last day!
It feels like Chelsea often leaves things to the last minute, which is maddening but also why everyone talks about their final days. United and Liverpool have had big moments, but most of their titles were wrapped up the match before, and I don’t remember them being on the edge so many times. Chelsea’s history just feels way more dramatic and last-gasp – maybe that’s why so many younger fans (like my friends and me) kind of like watching Chelsea on the last day, even if we don’t even support them. The last 20 years, their games have just had that reputation for being must-watch, high-pressure stuff!
