Honestly, this is wild to see. The Supreme Court keeping Cristina Kirchner's guilty verdict for corruption is like a slap to the whole old-school political scene in Argentina. I remember my parents complaining about her all the time when she was president. Even though she's not running for anything right now, people still talk about her like she could suddenly come back. I think this guilty verdict makes it way harder for her or anyone from her crew to have much influence, at least for a while.

It's kind of funny to see how everyone keeps talking about Messi and soccer, but in the background, stuff like this could actually change who has power in Argentina. Some people I know think things like this don't matter, but I'm not so sure. If politicians know they can really get in trouble for being shady, maybe they'll chill out a bit. But I’ve also heard that a lot of folks just think all politicians are corrupt anyway, so maybe it won’t change voters’ minds much at all. Either way, it’s shaking things up just when Argentina is already super tense about the next elections.
