I mean, £30 million for Liam Delap when he just came off a season where he only scored 12 goals and his team got relegated does sound wild, right? I had the same thought—like, is Chelsea just throwing money around again or what? But I keep seeing that clubs now are paying more for potential than just stats. Delap is still 22, so he could turn into a big-time striker if Chelsea gives him the right support.

Plus, he’s got experience in the Premier League already, and teams like United and Newcastle were after him too, which always bumps up the price. I guess it’s kind of like taking a risk on a young YouTuber before they blow up. If it works, Chelsea looks like geniuses. If not, well, they’ve made mistakes before!

I’d love to see Delap prove people wrong though. Sometimes the numbers don’t tell the whole story—maybe he just needs a better team around him. For me, it’s a gamble, but that’s just how transfers go. I hope he smashes it, honestly.
