Was having older actors like Jack Betts in Spider Man a good call, or would the movie have been just as good with only younger stars?

Oh man, that's something I never really thought about until I read about Jack Betts. Honestly, I think Spider Man totally needed actors like him. Having a legend who’s been in movies since the 50s made the movie feel way more authentic. Like, if it was just a bunch of new young actors, maybe it would’ve felt more like a cheap CW show instead of a big-time film. Jack Betts brought all this old-school energy and experience, and I think fans subconsciously pick up on that – the movie just feels bigger and more “real.”

I remember when I first watched Spider Man as a kid, I didn’t recognize him or care, I just wanted to see Spidey swing around. But rewatching it now, knowing Betts had a career in classic Westerns and soap operas, it makes the movie sort of a historic meetup of different acting styles. It’s like, you’re getting a bunch of movie history all in one film. So yeah, I’d say the movie would not have been the same without guys like Jack Betts. It’s kinda cool to appreciate that now, you know?
