Oh, there's definitely been a lot of noise about the star citizen upgrade backlash lately. Basically, Cloud Imperium Games tried to sell these new ship upgrades called "flight blades" for real cash first, before letting anyone buy them with in-game money. I remember logging onto Discord and seeing my friends spamming the chat about how unfair it was that stuff that affects gameplay was only for people willing to pay. That made a bunch of people freak out they'd be at a disadvantage unless they spent even more money, so it felt super pay-to-win. It’s kind of wild too, since people have already dropped insane amounts on ships and stuff just to support the game, and now upgrades felt like a money grab. After a lot of shouting in the community (I saw some epic Reddit threads), the devs actually apologized and said, okay, fine, you'll be able to get these with in-game credits next month. I think it’s cool they listened, but a lot of folks are still annoyed and worried they’ll pull something like this again. Feels like trust took a hit, for real.
