Oh, this is cool—bad thoughts Netflix was mostly filmed in Los Angeles, California, and you can totally tell if you’ve ever seen pics of Hollywood or the city. I read that they actually used famous places like the Hollywood Sign, Universal Studios, and those iconic palm-lined streets that pop up in so many movies. There’s even some shots out on these ranches, which made one of the episodes with the country music star feel kinda legit and not just like it was made on a random set.
In my opinion, it makes the stories way more trippy because you recognize the places, but then all this really messed up stuff is happening in them. It’s almost like you expect to see movie stars or regular tourists, but instead, you get these ridiculous, dark comedy sketches. My friend said it made things feel more real for her because it looked like somewhere she’d actually been on vacation.
So yeah, the locations definitely make the show cooler. It’s oddly familiar but just off enough to remind you that real life isn’t always as chill as it looks in L.A.
