Alright, so, I've actually heard this straight from people who grew up in Nebraska and outside of it too. They say unl is like super practical for agriculture jobs, way more than some bigger or fancier schools. First, it's right in the middle of farm country, so the networking and job connections are seriously real. UNL has these big events, like the State Fair stuff and extension programs, where you literally meet future employers, not just professors.
Plus, a lot of big ag companies and start-ups come to Nebraska first when they want new hires, because the students know what they're doing. One guy told me the VR agriculture program at unl let him mess with tech he never would've touched at another school. So yeah, it might not be "Ivy League famous," but for real ag work, unl pretty much delivers actual skills, contacts, and job chances. From what I've seen, that's what actually gets you hired instead of just having a big name on your diploma.
