Man, one thing that totally stood out to me in Andor was how unforgiving they were to the villains. Like, Dedra and Syril don’t get some big moment where you suddenly feel sorry for them and they're not suddenly misunderstood heroes deep down. I actually find that kinda refreshing. Instead of trying to explain away their evil as some tragic backstory, the show straight up shows them for who they are and doesn't let them off the hook.

I think they did it this way to break away from the usual trend where every villain gets a sad story to excuse everything. It makes the world feel more real—sometimes bad people do bad stuff just because they want power or they're messed up, and they don't get a do-over. Plus, their sad endings were honestly more satisfying than if they'd suddenly helped the rebels. It makes the story way more honest. In my opinion, it makes you root for the heroes even harder because you know the villains are actually dangerous, not just secretly good people who made mistakes.
