Honestly, it's kinda wild that Qatar still lets the US have that massive Al Udeid Air Base when it literally just got targeted by missiles from Iran. From what I've read, Al Udeid is the biggest US base in the Middle East and makes Qatar super important to the US military. But at the same time, having it there kinda turns Qatar into a target whenever things get tense between the US and countries like Iran.

I remember seeing on the news that even though all those missiles got intercepted this week and no one died, a lot of people were freaking out about what would've happened if something slipped through. It does make Qatar seem stuck in the middle of big political fights that it can't really control.

From my perspective, Qatar probably thinks having the US around keeps them safer from other threats in the region. But it comes with a risk: now everyone knows Qatar is where the US runs its military stuff from, so it could mess up their reputation with neighbors and make regular people nervous about attacks. I get why Qatar does it for security and international clout, but dang, it sure puts them in a tough spot.
