Honestly, I think Saudi Arabia is trying to lock in its place as a big player, especially with all the crazy things happening in the Middle East. When I first heard about all the US arms deals and business pacts, it felt like more than just money, you know? It’s like the Saudi government is making sure they get the US on their side by spending insane amounts on defense, AI, and other tech.
I mean, a $142 billion arms deal isn’t normal, right? Plus, the Saudis promising $600 billion in investments in things like AI and energy—it screams "we want to be your number one buddy." I’ve read that part of it is about security and showing off on the world stage, but some people are saying it’s also about keeping the local regime stable. The crown prince seems super focused on modernizing and protecting his power, so making these deals helps with both.
In my opinion, it might also be about control. If you spend that much, countries feel like they owe you attention. So, it's not just about weapons—it's about getting influence, fast. That's how it looks to me, anyway. Wild stuff.
