From what I see, Inter Milan bringing in Cristian Chivu as their coach is honestly kind of awesome but also risky. Chivu totally proved himself with Parma by saving them from relegation, so he kind of showed everyone he can handle tough situations. Still, Inter is a way bigger deal—way more pressure and everyone's watching. I think the club probably wanted someone who 'gets' Inter, since Chivu used to play there. He knows the culture and the fans like him, so that’s a plus.
In my view, clubs usually cycle through big famous coaches who sometimes don’t care that much about the team’s past. Chivu is different because he's been grinding, coaching their youth teams and stuff, not just skipping the line. Inter probably wanted some new energy in the club and someone who cares about developing young players, since the team needs rebuilding according to what I’ve read about them losing the league to Napoli. Chivu lines up with their need to trust in youth and people who want to be there.
You never know, but I’d say he deserved his shot after all the hard work. Let’s just hope the fans are patient if stuff goes sideways.
