Honestly, I used to think the Game of Thrones game was actually awesome just because everyone talked about it and because, well, it’s Game of Thrones! But after giving it a shot, I kinda felt like people mostly love it because of the show, not because the game itself is super special. It has some cool characters and the story makes sense if you’ve seen the TV series, but as a game, I thought the controls were kinda clunky and the gameplay felt like stuff I’ve played before, just with fancy Thrones graphics slapped on top.

Some of my friends had the same take, saying stuff like "it’s fun if you’re a fan" but also complaining about bugs or that it’s just another war strategy game. It makes you wonder if people actually enjoy the game or if they just really want to love anything Game of Thrones related. So from what I’ve seen, people hype it up more because they’re into the name and the world, not because the game itself breaks new ground. Still, if you love the world, you’ll probably have a good time, just don’t expect it to be something crazy original. If you try it, do it for the Thrones vibes, not because you want the next best game!
