Okay, I’ve seen a lot of people stressing that Tinubu stepping in for Fubara and Rivers is kind of messing with Nigeria’s whole federal system. I get why folks are nervous. If the president can just step in whenever a state has problems or ditches its governor, it kinda feels like states lose some power. That’s supposed to be what makes federalism cool: states handling their own business.

Even listening to my aunt argue with my uncle about this, you can tell it's a hot topic online and at home. Some legal people are even saying it's risky because if Tinubu sorts out Fubara's mess, future presidents might do the same, and suddenly, what's the point of voting for your governor or lawmakers? I think it's legit to worry. I mean, sure, Tinubu wants peace, but we shouldn’t ignore what could happen if every big crisis means more presidential control at the state level. Just feels like something that could backfire on regular people later if it becomes a habit.
