Honestly, Silento's case has got a lot of people talking about how the justice system handles mental health, especially when celebrities are involved. Like, I've seen arguments online about whether he should've gotten more or less time because of his mental health. Some people feel like the sentence was too light because someone died, but others say he clearly needed help, not just punishment.
I get why it's tricky. If someone's really struggling mentally and does something terrible, is it fair to treat them exactly the same as someone who just doesn't care? In Silento's case, he actually pleaded "guilty but mentally ill," which is kinda rare. It means the court admitted he wasn't totally in his right mind. But still, he got 30 years, which is a LOT of time.
Personally, I think the biggest thing is it makes people question if we're doing enough for mental health before things get this bad. It sounds like Silento tried to talk about his depression before, but nobody really helped. Maybe this will push people to take mental health way more seriously, especially with celebrities who seem happy but might be struggling inside. I hope so, anyway.
