Man, I've always wondered this too, because every year when the PGA Championship rolls around, my group chat blows up with people complaining about finding a working stream. Honestly, The Masters and US Open seem to be way more open with their coverage. The Masters literally streams almost every group and hole for free on their site. But for the PGA Championship, it’s usually hidden behind paywalls and you have to jump through more hoops, like signing up for ESPN+ or going through CBS's finicky app.

I've noticed, too, that international fans have it even worse. Some highlights get geo-blocked or are posted hours later. Last year I had to use a VPN just to get CBS coverage that was 'supposedly' available in my area. It gets super annoying if you just want to watch actual golf and not spend half the time looking for a stream. I think broadcasters do this so they can make more cash from subscriptions, but honestly, it really kills the vibe compared to other majors. My advice is to scope out which service has the rights this year and make sure you have it ready, so you’re not scrambling and missing the best shots.
