Honestly, Madagascar’s wildlife is out of this world, and that’s not even exaggerating. I remember learning in school that it broke away from Africa and India millions of years ago and just kinda did its own thing. Because it was so isolated, the animals and plants there had to adapt by themselves – so over 90% of them can’t be found anywhere else. That’s why you’ve got lemurs, which everyone knows from the movie, but also things like super weird frogs and the biggest chameleons in the world.

People who are into birdwatching or nature photography totally geek out over Madagascar for this reason. It’s basically a dream for anyone who loves wild, weird animal encounters. And those baobab trees that look like they’re from another planet? Only in Madagascar. If you care about animals, it’s worth a visit just for that, trust me.
