So, Umaru Musa Yar'adua University wasn't always called that. I found out that it started as Katsina University back in 2006, thanks to the state government. But they changed the name to honor Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, which is kinda sweet if you ask me.
Choosing the name probably had to do with everything he stood for: integrity and commitment to unity and growth. He was all about reforms and clear leadership, which is something universities dig, since education and good leadership go hand in hand.
Yar’Adua’s presidency was all about fairness and improvement, values any university would wanna be connected with. I mean, it's like naming a school after someone you really look up to, 'cause there's a lot to learn from who they were. Just my thoughts, though!
