Yeah, that's one of those things that really makes you scratch your head. I remember reading that Andrew Witty made over $23 million in 2023, which is wild, especially since reports said the pay gap was 352-to-1 compared to the regular worker at UnitedHealth Group. It's always weird to see huge companies act like they don't have money for employees or can't lower costs for customers, but the boss is cashing in like that.
I think it's partly about how companies try to attract top execs—they claim they need to pay so much to get someone with Witty's experience. But honestly, when regular people see that and they're struggling to pay for their own health care, it just feels messed up. Some of my friends have talked about how their parents' insurance denied claims or raised premiums, but then the CEO is making millions. I get that running a huge company is a ton of pressure, but the numbers just seem wrong. If I worked there, I'd probably be kind of resentful, to be honest. It really makes you question how fair giant corporations are with their money.
