Man, when Colin Jost took over Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live, everything just felt way snarkier and smarter, you know? I've watched a ton of old clips with people like Seth Meyers or Tina Fey, and they all had their own style. But Jost brought this goofy, self-aware energy that plays so well with Michael Che.

What really changed with him on Update is the chemistry between him and Che. Before, the anchors were good but never roasted each other like this. Jost is super deadpan and kind of nerdy, but he'll say some savage stuff out of nowhere. The segments now feel like two friends trash-talking at a lunch table instead of just reading jokes. Plus, they're not afraid to go edgy and call each other out, which old Update anchors didn't really do.

I think Jost made Update feel less like news and more like a legit comedy act. It's honestly made Weekend Update the one SNL part I always want to watch live. If Jost leaves someday, it'll be so weird to go back to just one person making jokes at a desk again.
