Honestly, looking at Bola Ahmed Tinubu's two years as president, I've seen a lot of debates online and among my friends about whether things are really different or not. Some people swear that his policies have totally shaken up the political scene, but to me, it doesn't feel that crazy on the ground. I mean, yeah, there's been stuff about the economy, reforms with taxes, and even a lot of talk about getting rid of old corruption, especially with what happened in Lagos when he was governor. I get it, he's done some new stuff, but Nigeria still has a bunch of the same struggles. Some say he favors his close friends and business people more than regular folks, and stuff like the Alpha Beta controversy when he was in Lagos still gets brought up now. So while I think Bola Ahmed Tinubu has tried to put his stamp on Nigerian politics, for someone like me, day-to-day, I don’t really feel a huge difference. Maybe it’s gonna take more time? But right now, I just see more of the same old politics, just with new faces. Honestly, I just hope something changes for real soon.
