I've heard a ton about Simon Ekpa and Biafra stuff lately. Basically, Ekpa is famous for being a big supporter of Biafra independence, which is this long-time movement wanting the southeast part of Nigeria to break away and become its own country. He started out as a Nigerian-Finnish politician, but he got way more popular online because he was always standing up for Biafran self-determination on Twitter and other platforms. Now he's actually the Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile, which sounds crazy but is like this group that acts as if Biafra already exists as a country, even though it's not official. People look up to him in that scene, but he's got a lot of haters too, especially because the Nigerian government blames him for inciting unrest. Honestly, I never thought some guy from Finland would play such a huge part in Nigerian politics, but that's how wild social media can be.
