So, for anyone worried about this, here’s how it usually goes if the West African Examinations Council suspects you of cheating: your results won’t just show up late — they’ll be officially withheld. I’ve seen it with a few people I know. They kept refreshing the results page and, instead of scores, there was just some notice saying the results were withheld, pending investigation.

WAEC then puts up a list on their website with the names or details of students who have to go to their offices for a fair hearing. It’s kinda scary because you don’t know if you’re in big trouble or just misunderstood. After you attend the hearing and they look at your case, they either clear your name (and finally release your results) or, if you’re guilty, they’ll officially cancel your results. I heard this whole process can drag on for weeks, but they aim to finish it all within about 75 days from when results are released.

If this ever happens to you, don’t panic but don’t just ignore it either. Make sure to check the WAEC website and be ready to go in for the hearing. It’s not the end of the world, but it’s definitely serious.
