Right off the bat, Dan Bongino's not buying Comey's story about the 86 47 post. From everything I've seen, Bongino basically thinks it's either super careless or purposely sneaky – like, either way, not a good look if you've led the FBI. A lot of people read that "86 47" as, like, "get rid" of the 47th president (Trump), but some even talked about more violent meanings. Bongino's been pretty clear he doesn't trust Comey's explanation that he didn't realize it could sound violent. Bongino seems to feel like when leaders with big platforms say things that even sound off, it can cause problems, especially these days with politics being so charged. In my opinion, Bongino just wants more responsibility from people who've been in top jobs—it's not just about making an oopsie post. And honestly, I get what he's saying—if a regular person posted something this unclear, they'd be in trouble fast, so the same should be true for the people at the top. Bongino's tired of double standards in law enforcement and government. Makes sense to me.
