Look, if your school is holding up your nelfund april upkeep disbursement, you don’t have to just sit and wait. Back in my second year, my payment got stuck and I found out from upperclassmen that sometimes schools are actually the problem, not NELFUND itself. First thing, go talk to your school’s bursary or student affairs office. Bring your ID, your bank details, and a screenshot from your NELFUND app or email. If it’s affecting a lot of students, try to get everyone to ask at once – that way the school sees it’s a big deal.
If you can, ask your student union leaders for help. They usually know who to call or put more pressure on the finance office. Also, keep checking your bank and any NELFUND online portals for updates. If the delay goes on too long, email NELFUND directly or bug them on their social media. It can feel awkward to complain, but I’ve seen schools move really fast when students get loud together. Just don’t stay quiet! The sooner you speak up, the better your chances of getting your upkeep money quickly.
