From what I've seen, looking at all the news lately, Derek Chauvin isn't leaving prison anytime soon, no matter how many rumors go around about pardons. He's got a 22.5-year sentence for murder from Minnesota, and that's the main one keeping him locked up. On top of that, he's doing a 21-year federal sentence, but the big thing is most of his sentences run at the same time (that's called concurrent). So, it’s not like he’s stacking 40-plus years, but it’s still a long haul.

If he behaves and everything, he could technically be up for parole around 2035 in Minnesota, but that's the earliest. Even if the president somehow pardoned his federal charges, he’d still have a ton of time left on the state murder sentence. They keep saying his federal stuff could end in 2037, and he'd be watched until 2043, but basically, he’s gonna be old by the time he could ever get out. I remember when this all happened, people said he'd never see the outside world again, and it's kinda true based on the calendars. He’ll be in there for a really long time, period.
