Honestly, I ask myself this every time a rapper goes to jail. With Lil Durk, it kinda feels like he’s definitely being watched more just because he’s super famous. I’ve seen so many other musicians and celebs get hit with bigger charges and crazier stories than regular people, and the news just explodes over it. Like, I remember when Meek Mill kept getting in trouble for stuff regular people might just get a warning for. With Durk, the prosecutors seem determined to make an example out of him, saying it’s not about his music but about his actions. Still, if he wasn’t Lil Durk, would this case be getting all this attention? Would they even have gone after him so hard, or would they have let it go? I think sometimes the courts want to use these big cases to look tough on crime, especially with famous people. I hope his fame doesn’t end up hurting him more than helping, because that's definitely not fair to anyone, famous or not.
