Yeah, a lot of people are worried about that, honestly. When a president uses emergency rule, it's supposed to be for emergencies, but if it happens whenever there's political drama, it kinda makes voting feel pointless. I remember people on social media asking if Tinubu's move just lets politicians bypass the rules. Like, if you can just call an emergency and take over, does my vote even matter?

Some say emergency rule can chill out a crisis, but if it's used too much, it turns into like a shortcut for whoever is in charge to just take control and quiet their rivals. That really doesn't sound like how democracy is supposed to work. Plus, it scares people who want stable leadership and makes them wonder if the next election will even count if the president can just step in anytime things get messy. Personally, I'd feel pretty cheated if I saw my governor suspended because of 'emergency' with no real input from the people. So, while maybe Tinubu meant well, there's definitely a risk this makes people lose faith in the system.
