I've thought about this a lot, especially since it's hard to choose just one option when you're job hunting. The reason the recruitment cdcfib board (Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board) only allows you to apply to one agency is honestly to stop people from gaming the system and to keep things fair for everyone.
Think about it, if someone could apply to all four – Correctional Service, Immigration Service, Fire Service, and Civil Defence – then they'd take up multiple slots in the shortlisting phase. It'd be like having the same person filling out four raffle tickets when everyone else only gets one! That'd definitely mess up the statistics and block out others who are just as qualified but only put in one application.
I've seen people get super annoyed by this rule, but I kinda get why they're doing it. The board just wants to make sure more people have a fair shot at the jobs, considering over 30,000 spots are up for grabs. If you know you’re really set on one career, you just have to pick the agency that fits most with your skills. I wish there was a way to do backup choices, but for now, that's just the rule.
Seriously, just pick where you’d actually want to work most and go hard for that one. I know it feels like a risk but that’s what everyone’s dealing with too!
