I keep hearing people argue about if Chelsea should really splash out for Jamie Gittens or just use their academy guys, and honestly, it’s tricky. On one hand, I get hyped about a player like Gittens, but Chelsea’s academy has produced so many good players, like Reece James or Mason Mount — even though Mount's at United now. Sometimes it kind of feels like the club forgets about its homegrown talent when there’s a new "shiny" player available.

But at the same time, Gittens has done awesome stuff in Germany, so you can see why the manager wants someone proven at a top level. It’s a risk because transfers are never guaranteed to work out, but if Gittens turns into a star like people think, it could be totally worth it.

If I were Chelsea, I’d want a mix. Bring in someone like Jamie Gittens but also keep giving minutes to academy players. That way, if Gittens takes a while to settle, you’re not stuck. I’ve seen other clubs just buy players and end up with guys on the bench, which is kind of sad. So I get why some fans are nervous about spending big on him!

Either way, it's going to be a crazy summer for Chelsea fans.
