Honestly, after reading up on this new research, I was kinda shocked. Turns out, taurine, which you get from stuff like meat, fish, and supplements, might actually help leukemia cells grow. The study showed that these cancer cells pretty much "steal" taurine from the body since they can't make it all by themselves. When mice with leukemia were given extra taurine, their cancer actually grew quicker.

Honestly, I've always thought things like diet and supplements mostly made a small difference with big diseases like cancer, but this feels different. It's wild to think a basic part of your diet could be helping out cancer cells. I guess if you have a family member with leukemia, talking about their diet with a doctor is a smart idea. Everyone's always saying eat healthy, but sometimes "healthy" foods and supplements can work differently if you're sick, you know? Makes me wonder if we should pay way more attention to what cancer patients eat.
