Honestly, I think it’s a bit of both. Like, some people genuinely care, and you can tell when someone takes time to write something special or remember a personal story from last Eid. But I’ve also seen people just forwarding the same eid mubarak wishes to everyone on their contact list, without even changing the name or checking who it’s going to.

I used to feel bad when I’d get a boring copy-paste message, but then, I realized not everyone has the time or energy to write out 50 different wishes. Sometimes it’s about being part of the fun and not feeling left out, especially when your whole group chat is popping off with messages and you don’t want to be the only one missing. I still think it means something because it’s a reminder that someone thought of you, even for just a second. But yeah, a lot of people do it just because everyone else is doing it and it’d be weird if they didn’t send anything. If you want your wish to stand out, add a little inside joke or memory—it really makes a difference!
