That's a good question and honestly, it's one I keep talking about with my mates who watch LaLiga. Real Betis probably regret just sitting back too much after getting the lead. I've seen Spanish teams play super confident in big games, but Betis kinda lost their nerve once Chelsea turned it up. They also really missed Youssouf Sabaly after he got injured, because their defense looked lost. Maybe if Betis had pushed for a second goal or maybe pressed Chelsea’s midfield harder, things for sure would've gotten messy for Chelsea and kept them uncomfortable.
I remember when Sevilla played United in finals, they were always super aggressive and never dropped their heads if the other team scored. I reckon Betis could learn from that, instead of letting Chelsea settle in and get their flow. Also, switching up tactics faster—if you see Palmer tearing you apart, don't just watch! Bring on fresh legs, go back to basics and frustrate them instead of hoping the lead holds. Spanish teams usually boss these games but this time, Betis were just too passive once Chelsea got on top. Makes you wonder what could have been if they had gambled more, right?
