I've spent a lot of time talking to business-minded people in Nigeria and ebonyi state always comes up as this hidden gem. From what I've seen and heard, agriculture is a huge deal there. Like, everyone knows the state has super fertile land, so people are making a good living from things like rice farming and cassava processing. One of my cousins started a palm oil business in ebonyi state and literally doubled his income in a year.
But it's not just farming – there are new businesses popping up in transport and even real estate because the population is growing fast. Another thing I noticed is schools and educational services are getting attention since the Ministry of Education is trying to make students globally competitive now. I think anything that helps people access education, like tech or training centers, could blow up.
There's a risk – the weather can mess with crops, and infrastructure isn't as smooth as places like Lagos. But if you can handle a challenge, the rewards are real. Personally, if I were going to start a business in ebonyi state, I'd look at something connected to agriculture or helping students learn new skills. Who knows – with all the attention on the state's growth, it could be the next big thing.
