Yeah, it's actually a big risk for the baby when someone's in a situation like Adriana Smith's in Georgia. Even though the doctors are trying to keep her body going just so the baby can grow, there are tons of complications. I've read that being brain dead means your body isn't working like normal, so the baby could end up not getting enough oxygen or nutrients. Plus, medicines used to keep the body stable can sometimes mess with how the fetus develops.
There's also the fact that infections, blood clots, or low blood pressure can happen a lot in brain dead patients, which can make things even more dangerous for the baby. It sounds super stressful for everyone. I can't even imagine waiting for months just to see if the baby will be okay or not. I'm not surprised that Adriana's family is so worried and upset about all the risks. It just feels like a really rough way to handle things, and I wish there were better options to protect both the mom and the baby in cases like this.
