From what I saw, England had a real problem keeping up with Senegal’s speed and physical style. Like, right from the start, Senegal pressed super high up the field, so England never got a chance to relax. Every time England tried to pass around, Senegal would just win the ball back and launch another attack. I actually remember shouting at the TV, “Can someone please mark Sarr?” because he was everywhere for Senegal.
Also, England tried a new formation with a bunch of changes, and honestly, it looked a little messy. Guys didn’t always seem to know their roles, which made it easy for Senegal to break through. Plus, England missed a big chance to go up 2-0, and after that, it kind of felt like the team lost confidence. I think fatigue was a factor too. By the second half, they looked tired and really couldn’t build up any pressure.
If England wants to stop struggling like this, I feel like they need to work on their energy and maybe figure out a better game plan to handle teams like Senegal that play fast and aggressive. Otherwise, they’ll keep getting caught out.
