This whole thing with Aisha Yesufu popping up on a fake national honours list actually says a LOT about Nigerian politics these days. For real, people are really quick to believe anything, especially if it sounds dramatic or goes against what you'd expect. Like, Aisha Yesufu is super critical of the current government, so when people saw her on the list, it sparked a huge debate. I've noticed it's so easy for political rumors to catch fire online because people are already kinda suspicious or looking for stuff to argue about.
It also kinda shows how messy things can get in Nigerian politics, where fake news can get as much attention (or more) than official announcements. It happens fast too—one moment something's viral, the next the presidency's scrambling to correct it. In my opinion, it's proof that trusting random lists on social media is risky, and politicians or public figures like Aisha can end up right in the middle without even doing anything. It's frustrating, but maybe it's a wake-up call for everyone to actually read past the headlines. Politics here is wild, honestly, and stuff like this is only making it worse!
