Honestly, it's pretty wild how the 10 inmates managed to escape the New Orleans jail. From what I've read and seen in the news, it mostly came down to a bunch of really basic fails. First off, the jail has had problems for years—broken locks, not enough staff, even stuff like holes in the walls behind toilets. The guys crawled out through one of these holes, and nobody noticed because the only guard in their area was out getting food or something. I guess there were only 60% of the staff they actually need, which makes it way easier to miss stuff like that.

The craziest thing to me is that it took over seven hours for anyone to notice the inmates were gone. And they're not just regular prisoners—some of them are up for murder. Apparently, they even changed out of their jumpsuits and used blankets to avoid getting scraped by barbed wire. To be honest, a lot of people are blaming jail leadership and also suspecting someone inside might've helped. Three jail employees got suspended, and the sheriff had already warned about how bad the infrastructure is.

If you ask me, the real problem is nobody fixed stuff because they didn't think an escape was likely. That's just asking for trouble. People in power sometimes just ignore warnings until it blows up in their face.
