To be honest, with so many JAMB UTME candidates scoring really low this year, a lot of students are stressed about what it means for 2025 university admissions. I've chatted with my older brother and his friends about this, and everyone agrees admission is looking rougher for people who usually rely on high scores to get into competitive courses.
From what I've seen in the stats, over 70% scored below 200 and less than 1% even hit 300. That means cutoff marks might have to drop, or universities could start looking more at things like post-UTME tests, O’level results, or even interviews to pick who gets in. Some schools might decide to accept lower scores just ‘cause there aren’t enough high scorers.
But honestly, my own view is it’s kinda unfair for students who really tried but got caught up in all the rescheduling and tech issues. I know a few people who had to write two or even three times, and the stress really messed with their focus. I think this year, students should just stay positive, check out lots of different school options, and not put all their hope in just one place. Anything can happen! Good luck to anyone waiting for admission this year.
