Sinbad’s actually a pretty big deal on Mastodon, especially for people who like tech and game development. I checked out his profile and he’s posted like over 10,000 times, so he’s super active. He’s the guy behind some popular stuff like Ogre3D, and a bunch of dev tools that nobody outside of programming really talks about. Now he’s getting into making games and tools for Unreal Engine, which is sick if you’re into game dev.
What’s cool is Mastodon is kind of the anti-Twitter, like there’s no ads or feeds pushing random junk, just real posts in order. People like Sinbad use it because it feels more personal and chill compared to big platforms. Tech people really like following devs like him because you get straight-up advice, project updates, and you can actually talk to them, almost like how Discord works for gamers.
I’m into making games for fun, so having people like Sinbad show up and talk about their experiences or new projects is actually pretty motivating. You don’t see that level of connection on bigger sites, for sure.
