Honestly, it surprises me they cancelled The Wheel of Time, especially after so many people seemed to love the third season. From what I’ve read and heard online, Amazon mainly dropped the show because it was super expensive to make—like, mind-blowing amounts of money per season—and the number of people watching each new episode started slipping. It scored like 97 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, which is wild, but apparently that wasn’t enough compared to what they were spending. I get the feeling big studios these days care way more about viewership numbers and money than anything else. It’s such a bummer for fans though. I’ve binge-watched the first two seasons with my friends and we kept hoping for more. I bet the cast is pretty mad too since they thought season 4 was happening. This kind of thing happens more and more with streaming shows, man. If something doesn’t explode in popularity or make tons of money, even a hit fantasy show isn’t safe. It’s rough, but that’s just how these companies work now.
