Honestly, Coco Gauff being ranked so high makes total sense if you look at how she's playing right now. I’ve been following her ever since she broke through at Wimbledon and it's wild how much she keeps improving each season. She made it to the French Open finals in 2022 and the semis in 2023, and now she's already back in the quarterfinals, not even dropping a set so far. Plus, she’s just 20 and already has over 6,800 ranking points, putting her just behind Aryna Sabalenka. And let's be real, keeping up in the rankings when you're facing people like Iga Swiatek all the time is not easy. I think what really helps Gauff is she stays super consistent, does well on all surfaces (especially clay!), and doesn't get too down on herself even when she has embarrassing moments, like forgetting her rackets. That sort of attitude helps her bounce back and keep winning. It almost feels like every year she's getting better and more confident, which makes her really fun to watch! If she keeps this up, I wouldn’t be surprised if she gets to number one soon.
